Hope Women’s Center 2011 Banquet
Members of our church attended the Hope Women’s Center’s 2011 Banquet, “Celebrate Family, Celebrate Life,” held on Monday, April 4, 2011. The keynote speaker was Pam Tebow, star of the 2010 Super Bowl commercial produced by Focus on the Family. Pam is a missionary, a speaker on a wide range of topics relating to the family, and has a passion for pro-life ministry.
The elders and deacons of HTPC set aside a time to provide the congregation the opportunity to contribute to the OPC Japan Relief Fund in order to aid our mission work there. The congregation was exhorted to pray for our missionaries and for their activities and challenges in the midst of this great trial.

On Friday, January 21, members from our church joined the Broward County Right to Life in downtown Fort Lauderdale to stand for life and to mark the 38th anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion on demand. They rallied in remembrance of those lost to abortion and those left behind.
Our church members responded to the appeal to help a Christian family in their time of need. We supplied the family with food items and Christmas gifts for the children. Thank you for your generosity.
Members of HTPC participated in the Samaritan Purse Operation Christmas Child project by filling shoe boxes with gifts in order to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to needy children around the world. Thank you!

On Thanksgiving morning, the Douglases participated in the Jesus Saves Ministries which is a ministry to the homeless in the Sistrunk Boulevard & Powerline area. The participants made the food and served about 75 people.

The Thank Offering is one of the most important ways congregations reach out to support our OPC in its work of Foreign Missions, Home Missions, and Christian Education. This offering makes up nearly a quarter of World Wide Outreach, which is the OPC's overall budget that is approved by the General Assembly every year. Thank you for your 2010 offerings.

Walk for Life 2010
Members from HTPC participated in a 2-mile walk at Westminster Academy’s West Campus to raise funds for Hope Women’s Centers. Hope Women’s Centers exist to encourage and equip women to make informed choices regarding unplanned pregnancies while sharing the love of God in word and deed. For more information visit their site at www.friendsofhope.com.
Life Chain 2010
Members from HTPC joined many other churches on University Drive to stand for life during this national prayer event as a public witness for the unborn by pro-life Americans. This event was sponsored by Broward County Right to Life. Broward Right to Life organizes local events with the help from pro-life leaders in churches across the county. Participants bear prayerful, peaceful witness to the children who have perished and the women who suffer emotional and physical trauma from abortion. For additional information about this organization, go towww.browardrighttolife.org.

Picture of 4-year-old survivor Cara seen here with her little brother, Craig Jr.: Cara lived for 15 months at the Ronald McDonald House of Broward General Hospital after having cancer surgery and treatment. The Douglases had volunteered at the House during that time and had befriended this family. They were Christians with quite a testimony of how God had worked in their lives and praised God because Cara is now cancer free.
